Vanderbilt built the Biltmore.
So, since I was in Asheville, for the wedding, I decided to check out the world famous Biltmore House and Gardens which was built by George Vanderbilt in 1895. This 250 room mansion kicks ass in a way that buildings don't often do.
Biltmore House took 6 years and 1,000 men to build. With just over 4 acres of floor space it contains 250 rooms, 65 fireplaces, 43 bathrooms, 34 bedrooms, 3 kitchens, an inhouse swimming pool, and a bowling alley in part of the basement. The massive stone spiral staircase has 102 steps and in its center suspended by a single bolt is an iron chandelier containing 72 electric light bulbs. The Banquet Hall is 74 feet by 42 feet and the dinner table could seat as many as 64 guests. The meals served there were usually 8 courses and required 15 utensils per person to eat. Hells yea, bro!
Now, many of you may recognize this place as Rich Manor, the Richie Rich homestead. It's true. Macaulay Culkin walked the same grounds as I. Wow. Ok, that's really not amazing. Other films that were shot on site were Mr. Destiny, The Last of the Mohicans, Forrest Gump, Patch Adams, and etc.
Anyway, the place is pretty damn kick-ass, so go check it out, you lazy bum!

That's me in front of the house.

That's me on the side deck with the back forrests behind me.

This is me still on the side deck, but that's the view straight out from the side of the house.

This is me with a bad ass lion statue that guards the front of the house.

This is me with a bad ass fish fountain thing in the gardens.
